Check website backlinks in one view

The backlink report opens with a summary of the profile and lets you drill into every link behind it.

  1. Backlinks and referring domains, with the trend over your plan's data history
  2. New and lost links in the last 30 days, each with the date it was found or lost
  3. Anchor text distribution, grouped by branded, exact, partial and generic anchors
  4. Dofollow and nofollow split, plus sponsored and UGC attributes
  5. Link types such as text, image, redirect and canonical
  6. Top linked pages on the target site, so you see which content earns links
  7. Domain strength of each referring domain on our own 0 to 100 scale

How SeoData finds backlinks

SeoData combines licensed data partners with our own crawler that respects robots.txt. The crawler revisits linking pages on a schedule, confirms that each link is still present and records its attributes. When a link disappears, SeoData keeps the record and notes the likely reason, so a lost link stays visible instead of simply dropping out of the list.

Filters and exports

Filter by referring domain, anchor, link attribute, link type, first seen date, target URL or domain strength. Save a filter as a view for the next check. Export any table to CSV, or send it into a branded PDF report.

Who checks backlinks with SeoData

  • In-house SEO leads who review new and lost links every week
  • Agencies that audit a prospect's link profile before the first call
  • Link builders who confirm that placed links are live and dofollow
  • Content teams who want to know which pages attract links on their own

How to read a backlink profile

Start with referring domains, not raw backlink counts. One site linking from every page of its footer can add thousands of backlinks and still count as one source. Then look at the lost links from the last 30 days. A steady loss from many domains usually points to content that moved or redirects that broke. Next, check anchors. A profile where most anchors are exact match keywords looks less natural than one led by brand and URL anchors. Finally, sort referring domains by domain strength to see which links carry the most weight. If you want alerts instead of manual checks, set up backlink monitoring. If you want to see links your rivals have and you lack, open competitor backlinks.

Backlink checker questions

How often is backlink data updated?

Our crawler rechecks linking pages continuously, and the most linked pages are revisited most often. New and lost links appear in the report with the date they were detected.

What is the difference between backlinks and referring domains?

A backlink is a single link from one page to another. A referring domain is a website that links to you at least once. Referring domains give a cleaner picture of how many independent sources support a site.

Can I check backlinks of a site I do not own?

Yes. The backlink checker works for any public domain, including competitors and prospects. No verification is needed.

Can I export the full list?

Yes. Every table exports to CSV within your plan's lookup limit. Agency and Enterprise plans can also pull the same data through the SEO API.
